The intake assessment sessions will follow the initial phone consultation to learn more information about your concerns, goals for treatment, and your background.
This full psychological assessment usually takes between one and two (75-minute) sessions. At the end of the assessment I will share my impressions and recommendations. We will then put together a personalized plan for treatment and schedule a time for regular ongoing sessions.
1.
Initial Phone Consultation

In order to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation through my online booking platform, SimplePractice, please click here, or you may email or contact me by telephone at (661) 464-0629 and leave a message.

The purpose of the phone consultation is for me to hear a bit about your concerns and current situation, and to have your questions answered. We will also discuss fees and scheduling.
At the end of the phone consultation, I will provide suggestions for next steps. If we decide we're a good fit, we will schedule an initial intake assessment.

I will send you an arrival packet via my secure online portal system (SimplePractice). The packet includes my office policies, the intake questionnaire and consent forms.
I recommend completing these online before our first appointment so that I have sufficient time to review them in advance of our meeting. However, you may wish to complete the forms during the first session and we will review them together.
Please Note: most of the initial intake assessment activities will only be able to proceed after those forms have been completed.

Prepare For
Your First Appointment

Ongoing therapy sessions are 50 minutes. I typically see clients once or twice weekly, and the overall duration of your treatment will depend on the nature of your presenting problems and treatment goals. We will decide together on a course of treatment, and will discuss how long that is likely to take. I believe it is important to continuously monitor progress toward your goals, and to reevaluate treatment duration if necessary.

I prefer to set a weekly appointment time; however, if you are unable to schedule on a regular basis at the same time weekly due to an irregular schedule, I will do my best to work with you to accommodate your schedule. More or less frequent sessions can be arranged, as can longer appointment times.

Ongoing Sessions

I encourage prospective clients to consider whether they feel comfortable with me as a therapist, and will endeavor to make sure I’m the best person to help with their particular concerns. If your needs do not align with my expertise, I will help connect you with another provider in the community who is better suited to help.
